Hello, folks! I’m Daniel, a software developer in his late twenties with over a decade of experience under his belt. I’ve always believed in challenging myself, whether it be physically, mentally, or emotionally. And here I stand today, diving into a new adventure: blogging.
Now, you might ask, “Why blogging?” Well, the answer is simple. I’m neither fond of it, nor do I consider myself particularly good at it. But that’s exactly the point.
Let me give you some insight into my journey.
Some of my past challenges might seem a bit unconventional. For instance, one day, I spontaneously decided to start with a single push-up, aiming to increase the count day by day. This self-imposed challenge lasted until May 2022, when health concerns forced me to pause. But don’t worry, I’ve got another big challenge running .
Believing in the philosophy, “You have to jump over your own shadow to move forward,” I pondered what could truly push me out of my comfort zone. While physical challenges excite me, the idea of sharing my personal and professional experiences with the world felt like a completely different beast. And thus, this blog was born.
There’s another layer to this challenge: Writing a blog in a language that’s not my mother tongue. It’s daunting for sure, but I yearn for something even bigger.
Like many developers, I’ve always dreamt of crating my very own game. With game development become more and more accessible, a thought struck me. What if I were to build something entirely from scratch? This idea hit me when I remembered about an old MMORPG I used to play as a child – Flyff.
So why not recreate it as a 2D pixel art game?
Creating a game requires a broad array of skills, from coding and drawing to sound design and more. But documenting my journey, sharing the highs and lows, and opening myself up to global feedback? That’s a whole new level of challenge.
Through this blog, I aim to share this journey and delving into the intricate world of game development.
